Posture in the Process

What is posture? Not literal posture as in how you stand, but as in our attitudes. Its surprising to me how unaware we can be of our own personality.

Posture is our attitude, and it’s reflected in our body language as well. Posture is effected by our beliefs as well. And sometimes even when we start with a positive and confident posture, when we hit an obstacle do we take on a weak or timid posture.

If we are confident we might actually reflect being unapproachable. So its helpful to become trusting of others who give us feedback on how we may be coming across when we are not intending to send that message.

If we are going to improve and become more effective, it requires us to become self aware and willing to change… I mean we don’t HAVE to change. We just have to accept that we will get the results equal to what we put in.

When we catch ourselves being defensive, or timid, make a conscious effort to stand up straight and take a deep breath. Reset.

And finally, we can practice mindfulness meditation. Mindfulness meditation can help us to become more aware of our thoughts, feelings, and body sensations. And as we become more aware of our posture, we can start to make changes to improve it.

Improving our posture is not only about looking good. It’s also about feeling good. When we stand up straight and hold our heads high, we send a message to ourselves and to the world that we’re confident and capable. And that can have a big impact on our self-esteem, our relationships, and our success in life.

How to Be More Aware of Your Posture

Here are a few tips to help you become more aware of your posture:

Pay attention to your body language throughout the day. When you’re sitting, standing, or walking, notice how your body is positioned. Are you slouching? Hunching your shoulders? Are your arms crossed?
Ask a friend or family member to give you feedback on your posture. They may be able to point out things that you’re not aware of.
Take a few minutes each day to practice good posture. Stand up straight, hold your head high, and take a deep breath.
Make a conscious effort to improve your posture when you’re feeling stressed or anxious. This can help you to feel more confident and in control
